Festive Fun at the Chill Factore

Chill1

Last weekend hubby, myself and our two younger sons headed to one of our fave local family hangouts for some snow play and a visit to the Chill Factore Santa’s grotto.

The place looked all merry and bright, with its big illuminated Christmas tree and hanging baubles – Peppa Pig was even there to meet and greet the little ones, many of whom looked mesmerised and awestruck by seeing their favourite piggy in person!

We got kitted out and headed onto the snow for an hour of fun. Even I had a go at the ‘Downhill Donuts’ which meant parking your behind in a big inflatable donut and whizzing down the slopes – great fun it was too.  Both my 9 year old and I chickened out of doing the ‘Luge’ but the fearless six year old was well up for it and went back several times while we took some photos of him in action.

There was sledging too of course and little ones under 4’s are well catered for in Mini Moose Land for some gentler snow play, which was tantalisingly close to Santa’s grotto.

When headed back into the alpine village area, the queue for Santa hadn’t died down much – well, he is one popular guy!  Waiting times were approx 30-40 minutes so if you are planning a visit I would recommend getting there early-ish to avoid the crowds.

But it really helped that there were tables set up alongside the queue with colouring activities and elves on hand for little ones who, as we know, aren’t the best at standing patiently in line.

At the end of our visit we relaxed upstairs in the sports bar with beer for the hubs, slushes for the boys and hot chocolate for me and we shared a big bowl of really hot and tasty chips – the perfect way to round off an afternoon’s snowy fun!

If you fancy popping down with the family, Santa is there every weekend in November and every day in December, right up until the evening of Christmas Eve.  All visits to Santa will be combined with some play time in the snow, making a visit extra special. With under 4’s you will combine your Santa visit with a half hour trip to Mini Moose Land and those with over 4’s will get a Snow Park Pass for an hour of unlimited fun on the Downhill Donuts, the Luge Slip ‘n’ Slide and Sledge ‘o’ Mania.
