It’s nearly December and almost time to decorate for Christmas, hooray! I love this time of year, don’t you?
I am as much a fan of outdoor Christmas decor as I am the indoor variety. I really enjoy taking walks through the neighbourhood, looking at how people have decorated the front of their homes. It makes me happy to see twinkling lights wrapped around trees and draped over porches, whilst natural holly wreaths on front doors and ornamental bay trees by the front step always look traditional and welcoming.
I was therefore happy to be contacted recently by Tree2mydoor. Based in Manchester, this award winning tree gifts company is family run and supplies a range of trees and plants that are individually boxed with a personalised greetings card and care guide.
There are over 100 trees to choose from and, at this time of year, a lovely Christmas range to enjoy, too.
I was invited to try the service and was delighted to take delivery of a couple of bay trees to place at my front door. Measuring approximately 80-85cm (2.5ft) in height, these lovely Christmas evergreens are aromatic and look so festive, seeming to say Christmas. The perfect way to greet visitors arriving at your door!
My trees arrived securely packaged in upright boxes and beautifully gift wrapped with paper and ribbons:
I kept the ribbons from their wrapping and tied them around the trees before popping them into a pair of black containers either side of the door step. You could decorate them with small strings of outdoor fairly lights to illuminate them, but I think they also look lovely left natural.
What a nice surprise it would be to receive a tree gift through the post, that can be enjoyed and cherished for years to come – that’s not something that can be said about all Christmas gifts.
If you fancy ordering from the Christmas range at Tree2mydoor, you have up until Thursday 21st December. Here are a few of my favourites from the collection to inspire those of you looking for presents, but there are more to discover on the website:
Aren’t they pretty? As the Tree2mydoor motto says, they are simply, ‘Living gifts for lasting memories’ – and pretty good for the environment, too. Getting back to nature and enjoying the simple things in life is what many people are trying to embrace more, especially at Christmas, so giving and receiving natural living gifts like these feels good on many levels.
