Many of us opt for hard floors in our homes these days, rather than wall to wall carpets. So to add an element of cosiness in the colder months, a wool rug is the natural choice.
Not only are they nice and warm under foot, rugs add an additional layer of texture and colour or tone to your room, making either a strong design statement, or a more subtle one depending on what you choose.
In my opinion, you can’t really go wrong with a quality rug in a neutral colour, so when I was invited by Frith Rugs recently to try one of their many designs in my own home, I opted for a versatile beige rug with a stylish tribal-inspired pattern.
There has been a huge trend for Moroccan and tribal influenced rugs recently, so this one ticks the boxes from a design point of view.
I was eager to see and feel the quality of the rug and was really impressed when it arrived. With a really thick and chunky, tightly woven pile, it feels sumptuous and luxurious under foot and I think will be extremely durable. I chose a rug size of 8′ x 5′ which is perfect for my room, covering a large area of the floorboards that were starting to look a little worn. I was not planning to sand and stain the boards again any time soon, so a rug is a great way to refresh a floor without any of the hard work involved!
