We had an opportunity to go along to the Chill Factore on Monday, Manchester’s indoor real snow centre. It’s very close to where we live, so we’re lucky to have it virtually on our doorstep.
As it is half term holidays, there are some great offers to take advantage of. For every full paying adult, you can bring an unlimited number of children for half price. This ‘Kids Go Half Price’ offer applies to Snow Park Passes, Lift Passes and Fun Taster Ski and Snowboard Lessons.
So if you’re a newbie to the Snow Centre experience, what can you expect? As you walk inside you’ll find yourself transported to an authentic alpine village, complete with specialist shops, bars, restaurants and cafes over two floors.
There is an indoor climbing wall for intrepid youngsters and plenty of viewing windows to watch the snow action with a hot chocolate if that is what you prefer (as I do!)
The slope at 180m in length is the longest indoor real snow slope – it’s impressive.
The boys couldn’t wait to get their kit on and have some fun!
I watched Alex and his friend enjoy the thrills of the 60m long Luge ice slide, the only one of its kind in the UK! They said it was fast and exciting.
As well as that they did some good old traditional sledging and tubing, which is whizzing and spinning down the snow in an inflatable rubber ring.
They had such a giggle and kept going back for more until they had really rosy cheeks and by the end they were well and truly ready for some pizza!
I think there is definitely something for everyone and all ages at the Chill Factore, you can enjoy a good few hours of activity and a light bite to eat or a hearty meal and some drinks. Little ones are in their element in the snow play area, while older kids can get a thrill from the more exhilarating options. I think the boys would like to try airboarding next time, which sounds fast and fun, swooping down the snow slope on inflatable boards – not for the faint hearted!
Thanks to the Chill Factore for welcoming us. The unlimited kids go half price Easter offer runs from now until 27th April.
