A Cafe Inspired Gallery Wall and a Giveaway!

Last weekend I mentioned on Facebook that I was planning to make a gallery wall in the kitchen here:

blank wallIt’s just crying out for it, isn’t it?  (Not to mention some Polyfiller.)

To give the space a bit of a coffee shop vibe, I thought it might be nice to download some coffee themed printables, like these lovely ones from the Lost Bumblebee blog

Aren’t they great?  Do check out Melissa’s blog – I’ve just spotted that she’s put a brand new design up, of a teapot on a union jack background.

So right now  I’m in the process of digging out some old frames to use, or failing that I might have a cheeky Ikea trip to buy some cheap black ones.

Then in a funny fluke of timing this past week, I was contacted by CUT IT OUT, a wallsticker company with some brilliant, inexpensive vinyl sticker designs on their website.  Would I like to review one, they wondered?  Would the chicken like to cross the road?!

I love me some vinyl wallstickers, so I bit their hand off and went a browsing, only to realise they actually have a brilliant coffee themed range – the perfect element to go on a cafe-inspired gallery wall!

What’s even better is that they are offering one lucky reader here the chance to win a wallsticker, of any design from their website, so have a look and make sure you enter below!  There are lots of departments, with stickers for bedrooms, living rooms, anywhere really – and they can even go on a window if you don’t have a suitable wall.

Here are some of the other ones that caught my attention:

But this is the sticker I chose for the kitchen:

It’s quite big, which I love, and it has stars on it – say no more.  I went for grey.

Positioning it on the wall with some masking tape down the middle, I peeled one half away from the backing paper, cut the backing off, smoothed down the vinyl and then did the same on the other side (there are full instructions on the Cut It Out website including a short video).

It wasn’t complicated and probably took me about ten minutes, that’s all.  Then the fun part is peeling off the clear top layer to reveal the vinyl image on the wall below.

Sigh… coffee and my beloved stars, what a combo, I really do like it!  The website mentions how thin these vinyls are, so it makes them look like they are painted on the wall and I can vouch for that – this one really does look like some clever clogs sign writer has come in and created a bespoke wall sign just pour moi.

But even though it’s thin, it felt strong enough to stand up to me tugging and smoothing it a little bit where necessary, without threatening to rip.

It really is simple to make a big transformation quickly with wonderful wallstickers.  They are all reasonably priced on the CUT IT OUT website so take a look and start planning which wall you could transform in your home!

And don’t forget you also have the chance to win a great wallsticker from CUT IT OUT, just follow the easy steps below in the rafflecopter widget.  You can have up to 6 goes, with different options of entering.  I’ll keep the giveaway open for ten days, so you have until midnight on Monday 10th Feb to enter.
