Today I’m delighted to feature a wonderful new online shop that I know you are going to love!
If you’re a bit bored of seeing the same items in the homeware departments of high street and online stores, the stunning new DesignRaaga is the perfect place to find original and skilfully handcrafted pieces to give your home a unique style.
DesignRaaga showcases an eclectic collection of beautiful treasures from artisans around the world. I love the ethos of the company; at DesignRaaga they aim to tell stories that bring melody and harmony, which is what the word ‘Raaga’ means. Each piece of home décor and accessory is handpicked so that you are able to choose something from an array of one of a kind, stand out pieces – all inspired by the traditional art forms of the origin country, to make any modern home effortlessly elegant.
Founder, Nandita, has a passion for travel and design, which shines through her whole range of global inspired finds and I was fortunate to receive a beautiful Ginger Jar to see for myself the stunning artistry that goes into a DesignRaaga piece.
This amazing Chevron Blue urn is bold and beautiful, a perfect blend of traditional handcrafted design with a contemporary finish. I absolutely love this large, Mexican ceramic beauty – it now takes pride of place on our mango wood sideboard, which I think it complements beautifully.
It is such a striking piece and knowing it is not mass produced but a one off – since no two handcrafted pieces are ever totally the same – makes it even more special. It is the first thing you notice on walking into our living room and is the finishing touch that was missing from the space! This classic Mexican jar, also called ‘tibor’ in Spanish, is handmade using the centuries old art of talavera pottery. I love the versatility of this urn; on the odd occasions when I have fresh flowers, it’s the perfect vase, the rest of the time I can just pop the lid on and it is a showstopping piece in its own right. This gorgeous design is available in other finishes too, so do check them all out and the other wonderful pieces in DesignRaaga, such as soft furnishings, decorative and practical accessories, pottery and wall decor – as well as scarves, jewellery and bags. I’ve picked out a few of my favourite things, in addition to the ginger jar, to give you a flavour, although there is much more to discover:
If you love to give something unique as a gift at Christmas, there is no better place to check out than Nandita’s gorgeous DesignRaaga store and in the meantime I have a great giveaway to share with you! This stunning Hand Painted Lid Jar is the prize in my latest giveaway:
A pop of yellow, a touch of turquoise and the lovely botanical design will make this jar a vibrant addition to your home. The lid makes it convenient to store your dry foods in it or you could place it on your shelf for a touch of spring cheer all year round. Part of the Blue Pottery collection – an age old craft of Jaipur, India that gets its name from the distinctive persian blue colour used to dye the ceramic.
If you would love to own this charming jar, it’s easy. Simply follow the steps in the rafflecopter below and good luck!
