I enjoy using make-up, I always have. Putting on my face definitely lifts my mood because if I look my best, I feel it too.
I like keeping an eye out for new beauty products and cosmetics to try, so was interested to hear from the team behind Chloe Lewis Beauty recently. I don’t watch TOWIE, so wasn’t really familiar with Chloe before, but how gorgeous is she?!
After being constantly asked by fans about what make-up she wears and how she applies it, she eventually decided to launch her own products, starting with a collection of 6 lipsticks.
This is just the beginning, with more products in development. They have been really well received, partly its the celebrity aspect I assume, but also because Chloe spent a long time bringing these lipsticks to the market as she wanted them to be just right and a credible, quality product.
Having tried three of the six shades, I’ve found them really nice to apply and wear. The moisturising formula means they don’t drag, but glide on smoothly and with a rich feel. Infused with vitamin E and protective sunscreen, applying the lipstick feels soft and creamy. If your lips are a bit dry, this lipstick would probably help as it feels nicely conditioning. At £12.99 they’re not the cheapest on the market, but the quality shows in the both the design and product. The look is luxurious and the formulation feels very good on.
In chic and on-trend white and rose gold packaging, the lipsticks look really good. As you close the lid there’s a satisfying little magnetic pull which firmly brings the two parts together. Nice touch!
The actual stick of lip colour is quite slim compared to some others, but it makes applying a breeze. I managed to get nice tight and tidy edges even without a lip liner.
Colourwise, the balance of pigmentation and consistency seems really good. I think the website looks beautiful and high end, too, but to my eyes the colours I ordered look a little different in the flesh to the images on the website, particularly Berry Kiss; but of course studio lighting and conditions will give different results to mine at home.
‘Typically Me’ is probably my favourite of the three. Its a pretty, subtle and peachy shade. Very flattering and wearable during the day. Flossy is more pink, but you can apply it subtly for a rose bud look or really layer it up for a more vibrant, hotter pink. Berry Kiss is a stronger version of Typically Me, I think – its more vivid and deep, edging towards orange. I like all three and will wear them again.
The other three colours I haven’t tried yet include two reds (Lady Love and Reeva Red) plus a lighter shade called Honey Honey. You can view the full collection here.
I’m interested to see what Chloe introduces next to her range. I’ve been impressed with what I’ve tried so far.
I was sent sample lipsticks for the purpose of this review. All words and opinions are my own and genuine.
