Have you ever shopped for a new sofa and felt daunted rather than excited?

It’s understandable; any big purchase means there’s a lot to consider and with a sofa you have to weigh up the design, quality, comfort, size, colour, material – not forgetting the price, too.  We want to make the right choice and it can be a challenge to find ‘the one’ that ticks all the boxes.

Luckily, for anyone ‘sofa hunting’ at the moment, there’s a brand new label called The Lounge Co.

Launched this week, I’ve been having a good browse around their website and there are some gorgeous designs and colour/fabric combinations to choose from.  But even though there’s a lot of choice, you don’t feel overwhelmed thanks to the website’s layout and helpful configurator where you can whittle down your preferences and find your ultimate seating.

Starting with a choice of 12 sofa styles, 6 chairs and 6 footstool designs, select your favourite shape then opt for one of the many fabric/leather/colour choices to suit your taste – even down to the feet. If you change your mind or want to try something different, it’s easy to start again.

There’s lots of inspiration on the website with beautiful images and videos, but The Lounge Co. is also very keen for you to fall in ‘love at first sit’ – therefore the site is enhanced by 21 new galleries up and down the country where you can experience collections first hand.  Located within independent furniture retailers, there is expert advice available and you can browse in comfort –  touch, sit and examine the pieces up close, even ‘play’ on interactive mood boards to help bring your design to life.

For those seeking quality as well as style, it’s good to know that all the collections are British designed and manufactured.  In fact, there’s a very esteemed team behind The Lounge Co. of experienced designers and skilled furniture makers who have worked with heritage brands such as G-Plan, Parker Knoll and Duresta to name a few.

I couldn’t go onto the website without having a go at configuring a sofa myself.  Whether you favour a classic, modern or retro design, there’s a style for you – but at the moment I’m coveting the classic silhouette of the ‘Rosie’ sofa.  It’s something about those gorgeous lines and maybe because we don’t live in an ultra modern house, I could really see it’s elegant shape suiting our 1930s home.

Its deep cushions and sprung back just invite you to snuggle into it and relax.  The choice of grey works for me, too – nice and contemporary and easy on the eye, although this sofa would also be stunning in a deep aubergine or something more zingy like chartreuse to make a bold statement a room.  In my case, with a husband, three children and two cats, I’d be inclined to opt for one of the family friendly aqua clean technology fabrics, for additional peace of mind.

As autumn approaches, its often a time when we start to cosy up the home and maybe begin to think about investing in a new sofa – especially one in time for Christmas.  With The Lounge Co. you can take advantage of free delivery on purchases over £300, a ten year guarantee and six weeks lead time, so you’d be wise to take a look.  For further inspiration, why not check out this video too…
