7 Tips To Add Some Razzle Dazzle To Your Front Yard

The front yard of a home is typically the first thing that people notice when walking up to a home for the first time. This means that it has to make a good impression since so many different people will see it each and every day.

So, if you have been thinking about how to improve your own yard, here are some great ideas on how to do it:

Dress Up Your Lighting

One of the best ways to dress up an entryway or pathway leading from your sidewalk into your home is by using landscape lighting. You can either use permanent LED lights or solar-powered lights if you want something more affordable. For extra security, consider putting motion sensor lights where cars park at night.

The Right Plant Choices

It may seem like a simple tip, but choosing the right plants can make all of the difference. First, you want to include at least three “anchor” plants in your front yard that are big and bold enough to be seen from the street. Then choose complementary greenery that is shorter and non-obtrusive for fillers. Finally, put in thick grass or turf for an overall tidy look.

Install A Sprinkler System

In addition to providing your yard with the necessary amount of water, installing a sprinkler system with Brass Valves will help keep the weeds and grass in check so that you don’t have any issues with lawn maintenance. Plus, it’s more environmentally friendly than using random hose spouts.

Don’t Forget About Your Walkways

Nothing says “scruffy” like unswept walkways! Sweep often to remove leaves and debris; consider using solar-powered compasses on your sidewalks to attract even more visitors to your home’s entryway. Also, make sure you dress up any cracks in your sidewalk with something bright, such as coloured epoxy or stamped concrete.

Add a Splash of Colour

One easy way to add some personality to your front yard is by adding brightly-coloured flowers. You can either do this with flower beds or by planting colourful shrubs around the edges of your area. Just be careful not to overcrowd your space; it’s important for the front garden to look neat and well-maintained.

Make Use of Your Porch

If you have a porch, make sure you use it! Hang some plants or baskets from the railing, place some comfortable chairs and a table out there, or even install a small roof if you live in a climate that gets a lot of rain. Not only will this make your home more inviting from the street, but it will also give you a great place to enjoy your morning coffee.

Include Something Fun

Finally, don’t forget about including something fun in your front yard. That could mean buying a funny outdoor clock or quirky garden gnome or even just adding an interesting water feature that you can sit beside and relax with. In the end, this is probably going to be what visitors remember most about visiting your home, so make it count!
