Decluttering can be fun, as long as you have a positive outlook when you go into this. We know that all too often people see this task as a long, arduous thing that they don’t want to do and have to. While this might be true, that doesn’t mean that you have to approach it this way. Like anything else, if you approach decluttering the right way, with an open mind and think about it as something that can be enjoyable, you may be able to enjoy it.
Below, we’re going to be taking a look at some of the things that you can try to make decluttering a little more fun to do. Once you get the bug you won’t want to stop!
Play Some Of Your Favorite Music
We’re going to kick things off by suggesting that you try playing some of your favorite music. You should think about what songs will help keep you motivated, help keep you moving through all of the items that you forgot you even had, and keep you feeling good. As such, you want some good, upbeat music to get started, and this should help you get through the hardest parts.
Of course, music should always be varied, so if you then have some power ballads that you can belt out while you’re clearing away, this will be helpful to you. Don’t forget, it’s going to be like a kid tidying their room, finding things they thought they had lost, trying on lost items and more, so just let yourself enjoy it for a little while.
Create Piles Of What You Want To Keep
The last thing that you need is to get your items that you want to throw away mixed up with the ones that you want to stay. You don’t want to throw away anything precious to you by accident, so you need to be creating piles of what you’re sure you want to keep, what you’re sure you want to throw away, and items that you want to keep but don’t have any space for. The last pile can be put into storage if you’re willing to look into self storage units near your home, as this then is out of the way, but you don’t have to get rid of anything you weren’t ready for.
Get A Friend Round To Help
If you have any friends who live near you, you can always ask them to help to make it a little more fun. Doing something with someone that you love is always a little more exciting than trying to do it yourself, right? You can both have a sing while you do this, you can laugh with each other, you can talk about life, and watch the time pass by so much faster than if you were trying to get through this on your own.
So, there you have it. Decluttering can be fun, as long as you are putting in the effort to make it so. We wish you the very best of luck, and hope that you manage to pull through!
