Fast Ways to Make your Large Garden Easier to Manage

If you feel as though your garden isn’t easy to manage at all then you need to make some tweaks. If you can make some changes now then your garden will look great for years to come, so make sure that you keep that in mind.

Add some Hard Landscape

The first thing you need to do is add some hard landscape. Adding some paving or large patio slabs will mean that you have to spend less time mowing your lawn and it also means that you don’t have to spend as long maintaining your landscape. At the end of the day, it doesn’t take long to put some paving down and when you give it a go for yourself, you will soon find that it is easier for you to get the result you want. If you can, have a slip-proof surface put down so you don’t have to spend most of your time scrubbing moss off it. If you can do this then you will soon find that you can get the result you want.

Minimal Containers

It is also so important that you opt for minimal containers. Containers can be a chore as you have to water the plants inside them while changing out the compost from time to time. If you want to work around this then make sure that you have a few bigger pots so you don’t have to spend as much time going between all of them.

Leave some Areas Wild

Don’t feel as though you have to manicure everything. Sometimes, having undisturbed areas is a good thing. It’s also very beneficial to wildlife. Hedgehogs often build their roosts out of leaves and moss so if you have a lot of this lying around then you should dedicate this to nature. If you can do this with certain parts of your garden then this will make a major difference overall.

Be careful, though; some plants might look great in your wild garden, but they’re actually bad news and could damage your property and make it hard to sell – Japanese knotweed is a great example of that, and you’ll need specialist knotweed removal if you find it.

Focus on the Edges

It is also very important that you focus on the edges. Give your lawn a chance to turn itself into a meadow, and mow the paths through the long grass so you can have a low-maintenance lawn. If mowing is a chore then make way for a path and add some bricks to create a divide. You can then go over this with a strimmer so you can avoid getting the lawnmower out all the time. Remember that it is entirely possible for you to opt for artificial turf if you feel like the concept of grass is just too much.

So as you can see, it’s very easy for you to get the result you want out of your garden and if you follow this guide you will soon find that it is easier for you to turn your garden into paradise. You may also find that it is faster for you to keep up with any maintenance jobs too which is great, to say the least. Why not see if you can make some changes for yourself today?
