Life of Luxury – Inside London’s Prime Properties

Recently I was lucky enough to visit VI Castle Lane, an exclusive new development of homes in London, comprising 1, 2 and 3 bed apartments, plus a handful of townhouses.

Exterior Design

The eye-catching architecture features bespoke curved floor to ceiling windows which are totally unique! Equally stunning from inside or out, they provide a fantastic and unsurpassed open aspect and airy feel.

The impressive double glazing ensures that once you step inside, you are blissfully unaware of the hustle and bustle beyond. The atmosphere is so calm and peaceful; just what you need when you’re ready to escape the city.

Interior Design

As an interior design blogger, I was very excited to see how professional studio, Cocovara, had furnished and styled the look of VI Castle Lane. I was not disappointed. Each space I explored exuded quality, down to the smallest detail such as the exquisite door and wardrobe handles.

Luxury living is key at this exclusive address, with smart home features such as ambient lighting and air-conditioning controlled by discreet wall plates. The sleek, modern kitchens are all Italian made, with Miele appliances and both kitchens and bathrooms feature the most beautiful, handpicked marble.

Interior packages are available for those who would like Cocovara to furnish their apartments to this impeccably high standard.

Eco Credentials

A great aspect of any new build is the fact that the architects can integrate eco features and VI Castle Lane ticks all the boxes when it comes to sustainability. The first visible clue is the installation of green roofs, which are as aesthetically pleasing as they are useful. Green roofs have many environmental benefits, such as their ability to reduce noise and air pollution, sequester carbon, and increase urban biodiversity by providing habitat for wildlife, which is really meaningful in big cities like London.  Solar panels have been installed too, and there’s a Heat Recovery System from the ventilation. Finally, rather than a boiler in each apartment, the inclusion of a District Heating System means that a communal boiler serves all the apartments at VI Castle Lane, which is more energy efficient. The development scores excellent overall for ‘BREEAM’, which is the code for assessing, rating and certifying the sustainability of buildings.

Space

When I think of prime London real estate, I tend to imagine homes with postage stamp footprints.  So I was particularly struck by the roomy feel of the apartments I viewed.  None could be described as ‘poky’, not even the one bedroom apartment which had a luxuriously large entrance hall, generous open plan kitchen, airy dining and living space, spacious bathroom and good-sized bedroom.

There was built-in storage, too and the concealed aircon and underfloor heating ensures that space is used for living, unhindered by bulky radiators and units.  Pleasantly high ceilings (unusual for newbuild developments) added to the general air of spaciousness.

Prime Location

VI Castle Lane is situated within the Birdcage Walk Conservation Area that affords stunning views of Westminster.  The boutique development’s desirable location in the heart of Victoria means that luxury retail and business is a stone’s throw away.  Transport links here are second to none; you can walk to either Victoria or St James’s Park stations in just a few minutes – ultra convenient for commuters and those seeking access to the whole of the city from their doorstep.  Jet setters are catered for too, with major airports like Gatwick conveniently reached by train in about half an hour.

Value for Money

Property prices here include the flooring, built-in furniture, kitchen and bathroom. Value conscious buyers will appreciate that VI Castle Lane offers luxury boutique living in a great London location, for less than some other nearby prime areas (compared to say, Mayfair, where the square footage works out at almost double the price.)

VI Castle Lane also offers the peace of mind that comes with a 24-hour concierge, providing assistance whenever required.  All in all, the properties have so much to offer the discerning buyer seeking an unparalleled Prime London home. Wow, the interiors look stunning, but it’s those curved glass windows that are a bigger winner for me. How unusual!
