It’s that time of year again! Black Friday is tomorrow on Friday 26th November, with the promise of exciting money-saving deals and fantastic big ticket price slashes in the pre-Christmas run up.
If you still need to shop for presents, or items for yourself or the home, it’s only logical to take advantage of the offers. Make a wishlist to keep you on track and stop you doing a random virtual trolley dash!
One place that’s offering some great value deals is eBay. As I’m sure you’re well aware, eBay is a global leader when it comes to e-commerce, connecting millions of buyers and sellers in a worldwide marketplace. I’ve regularly used eBay to buy my sons’ Christmas and birthday presents over the years, as well as selling our unwanted items whenever it’s time for a declutter. I like the diverse range of products, the thrill of finding great bargains and the fact that individuals and small retailers can do business alongside bigger sellers.
In fact, if you’re planning to list some items for sale in the lead up to Christmas, eBay sellers will be treated to a maximum £1 selling fee across three items between 3rd and 6th of December 2021. (Customers will qualify for this deal when they spend £5 or more between now & the 29th.)
I’ve already been dipping into the site looking for some early deals, so read on if you want some ideas around this year’s eBay Black Friday offers.
Electronics and Appliances
Black Friday electronic deals are always worth checking out as it’s the ideal time to upgrade your tech. It’s usually my first port of call for Christmas gifts for my family, whether I’m looking for laptops, desktop computers, games consoles (or those frequently disappearing phone chargers and earphones!)
Two of our boys share a bedroom, which we’re planning to redecorate soon and I think they’d be over the moon to receive a smart TV on Christmas morning to enjoy Netflix/YouTube/gaming from their beds.
Technology can be expensive, which is why it’s definitely worth looking at the new electronic deals page on eBay – click the Daily Deals tab at the top of the website and you’ll find a selection of early Black Friday offers that are live now. Also check out the ‘Certified Refurbished’ hub which is an excellent way to save money and help the environment, shopping for reconditioned goods which are professionally checked and covered by an eBay Money Back Guarantee for peace of mind.
If you struggle with gift ideas for senior family members, consider some home automation assistants such as Google Home or Alexa which could be of real benefit to them. Also, health tech – a smart watch is ideal for those who love gadgets but also wants to start off the new year with a health kick!
Fashion & Beauty
Browsing the Fashion and Beauty listings can get quite addictive and I’ve enjoyed loads of pre-loved clothing bargains via eBay – it’s one way we can all do our bit.
I was also delighted to find that there’s a Brand Outlet full of popular high street names – did you know about it? This section of the website supports over 200 widely known, stylish brands including Marks & Spencer, Ted Baker, Oliver Bonas, White Stuff and many more, offering major discounts across women and men’s clothing, shoes and accessories. Here’s where things get really good, because everything on the Brand Outlet will be available for £30 or less across the weekend and over Cyber Monday and after this deal, you can still get 20% off existing deals until 3rd December.
As it’s pretty chilly outside right now, it might be worth heading straight for the furry coats. This gorgeous one is on offer from Joules:
Hair and beauty gadgets are very popular gift ideas especially for those looking to save money on beauty treatments in the new year, so why not check out items like professional manicure kits that come with a UV lamp and can be done at home instead of the salon.
Toys & Leisure
I’m a bit out of touch on the toys front these days, but I don’t think you can go wrong with classics books, board games and Lego. When the internet is down or it’s a rainy Sunday afternoon in January, getting a construction kit out can be a favourite way for families to spend some quality time together.
Home
As the chill starts to bite outside, it’s a signal to start layering up the home with faux fur throws, fleecy cushions, soft rugs etc. If you have guests coming to stay this Christmas, it may be time to give the spare room a glow-up! New bedding is always a welcome treat and it encourages a good night’s sleep, especially if you opt for cosy brushed cotton bed sets or even a heated blanket.
In terms of Christmas decor, I know we all usually tend to recycle and reuse our decs from the previous holidays, which is the responsible, sustainable option. But if your fairy lights have given up the ghost or you fancy investing in a faux tree that you can use year after year, eBay is also a great source of Christmas decorations.
I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for a deal or two this Friday! Will you?
