One of the things I particularly enjoyed at the Ideal Home Show when it came to Manchester in June were the fantastic room sets. I enjoy looking at professionally styled rooms to try and pick up ideas for arranging furniture and accessories – and the HomeSense room caught my eye for this reason. I loved how the clever layering of florals, patterns and bold colours all came together in the scheme.
A visit to HomeSense never disappoints as you don’t tend to see the same things twice and that is down to the fact that the store gets new deliveries of unique finds every day. I also love the very eclectic nature of the goods and of course the competitive prices. As a huge fan of storage solutions, I have a few HomeSense organising pieces – the store is one of my ‘go to places’ for things like wall racks, and creative or quirky shelves, containers and hooks as I can always find something stylish, rustic or unusual – storage pieces don’t have to look boring and functional after all!
As I would personally like to be a bit more adventurous with colour and pattern combinations in the home, I found the Summer Lookbook from HomeSense really helpful as it sets out the trends beautifully, as you can see below – feast your eyes!
Summer Soiree is a collection aimed at outdoor dining with gorgeous mix and match pieces from picnic baskets to seat cushions.
Sherbert Shades is a lovely range of sweetie-coloured pastel delights, including gorgeous ‘Macaron’ mugs and cushions and picture frames in similarly dreamy sugared-almond hues.
For an exotic and cool look in your home the World Traveller collection combines gorgeous ethnic patterns and delightful furniture, tableware and lanterns.
And Colour Pop is exactly as it sounds – delicious statement shades lavished on key pieces such as seating and accessories like cushions, lamps, candles and throws.
Bold yet delicate petal and plant prints are the look of the Floral Fancies range, they really bring the outdoors in and can freshen up a tired interior.
In the same way that a vintage fair can bring out the curious magpie in me, with its promise of undiscovered treasures, I for one cannot walk past a HomeSense store without taking a look in – are you the same?
