What the Different Seasons in New York Offer Travellers

Each season in New York offers residents and visitors something different, so no matter what time of the year you’re there, you’ll be able to enjoy your days regardless. Think about the kind of weather you want, as well as the events and activities you want to take part in. Then plan your trip around this. Here we have created a mini guide going through some of the things that each season in New York offers. Let’s get stuck in.

Summer

Warm, humid and wet summers in New York can be intense weather-wise. However, you can still definitely make the most of the city during the summer, as so many tourists do. If the weather is too much, there are so many indoor activities for you to make the most of – just check out https://www.hellotickets.co.uk for inspiration (get tips on how to get Madison Square Garden tickets via the link). When the weather isn’t too much, it is great to get outdoors to check out the beautiful green parks and nature spots in New York. Pack yourself a picnic and relax in lovely spots like Pelham Bay Park (the largest in the city) or the peaceful Inwood Park.

Autumn

Did somebody say Halloween? As the leaves turn brown and autumn takes over the city, New York gets cosier. Grab your pumpkin-spiced lattes, wrap up warm, and find a Halloween event that you’ll never forget. Whether you want to go pumpkin carving or experience an American fancy dress party, you’ll have plenty of different options. During the fall, you can also check out the New York film festival if you’re a movie buff. Grab a ticket to an indie film or blockbuster and enjoy the show.

Spring

The weather in spring is usually very pleasant, as it’s not too extreme in terms of temperature. This means it’s a great time to get outdoors and enjoy the various nature spots and walking tours throughout the city. As the frost melts away, flowers start to bloom again in New York, meaning flower shows are on the cards – check to see what’s on at the New York Botanical Garden over these months! Spring is definitely one of the nicest times to visit New York City.

Winter

Whilst the winters in New York can be very cold, and even snowy, it’s still a wonderful time to visit for various reasons. Winter brings with it the party season, and where better to enjoy celebrations than the city that never sleeps? You’ve got Christmas and New Year’s Eve to enjoy during this period, and the city will be illuminated with beautiful decorations. So whether you want to go ice skating outdoors, Christmas shopping down 5th avenue, or simply soak up the festivities, then you’ll love New York over this period of time.

No matter when you visit, New York has so much to do and see, you’ll never get bored. Keep in mind the information we’ve included in this article and have a brilliant trip!
