Handcrafted ‘Terra’ Mid-Century Entertainment Unit from Kanttari

Today I’m happy to share a little corner of my home that has been much improved by the addition of a brand new piece of furniture.

A while ago I was contacted by a company called Kanttari, that specialises in handcrafted tables, cabinets, entertainment units and more.  Their designs are contemporary and built to last, with plenty of gorgeous metal and marble details complementing the wood; the result is a range of seriously cool and stylish furniture.

From their workshop in Riga, Latvia, Kanttari can ship worldwide.  Each Kanttari piece is a one-off, built to order and delivered in just a few weeks.  I didn’t have to wait long at all for my TV unit and when it arrived it came via courier, packaged extremely well.

All I had to do was screw on the sturdy, copper ringed legs; everything else was already built, including that gorgeous copper fronted soft close drawer.

My model is the minimal TV Table Terra Single, which at 100cm wide perfectly fits the alcove in our front room.

There is a wider model with two copper drawers, which is equally stunning.

With mid-century inspired splayed legs and styling, I opted for the matte black ash veneer finish that features a subtle woodgrain.  But alternatively you can choose a white high gloss or walnut version.  However, the black unit, with those wonderful copper details, perfectly complements the black marble of our fireplace and the copper elements I already had in the room.

At £236.60, I think it is really good value for such a striking, well-made piece.  TV stands and entertainment units can be a bit ordinary sometimes, and even the flat packs can work out costly for the quality you get.  But this piece would be an investment – as well as the other fabulous designs on the Kanttari website.  Do take a look at the beautiful, unique pieces made with raw materials; there are some amazing tables where reclaimed wood and metals are fused to incredible effect.

I like the fact that Kanttari uses wood harvested from sustainable trees and they can craft furniture not only for homes, but also business and retail.  I couldn’t fault the communication and level of service I received and I wouldn’t hesitate to order from Kanttari again in the future.

If you subscribe to the newsletter on the homepage you’ll receive a 5% discount code to use on your first order – and why not give them a follow on Facebook or Instagram where you can see more of their gorgeous designs.

Thank you to Kanttari who gifted me a sample TV unit in return for an honest review
