Have you recently had a modular buildings installed in your garden and want to make it feel like home? Maybe you have a spare room that you use as an office, but it’s feeling too much like an office than a place where you can work and relax. Either way, there are many ways in which you can make a home office feel like home, at an affordable rate as well.
To start with, you can buy some plants – plants add colour and a homely feel to the room. Pictures on your wall of your family or pretty landscapes add a nice touch and so does picking fashionable furniture – instead of the cheapest office furniture you can find.
We have put together our guide on making your home office feel like a home. Keep on reading to learn more about our tips and tricks and see if you can apply any of them to your home office.
Plants
Who doesn’t love a good plant in their home? They add colour, break up any white spaces and they are affordable. If you enjoy having plants in your home, then having some in your home office is a no-brainer. Our advice would be to pop down to your local gardening centre and see what plants they have on offer at the moment. Look for indoor plants that are easy to look after, this way you don’t have to spend a lot of time keeping them alive. Cactuses are perfect if you aren’t very good with plants. Pinterest is also a good place to look if you are after some inspiration on indoor plants.
Pictures
If you have recently been on holiday and have been taking photos of your time, send those photos to print and hang them in your home office. Photos add a personal touch to a room as well as colour and memories that you can look at and think fondly of. If you haven’t got any of your own photos to print, sites like Desenio have a whole range of natural photos that you can have printed and sent to you.
Fashionable Furniture
When kitting out your home office, don’t just go for the cheapest office furniture, as this will look like office furniture. Instead, try and spend a little more and buy some fashionable pieces of furniture. By doing this, you can move away from a typical office vibe and more to a home vibe. Think about the colours you are buying and make sure all the items you are buying match each other.
We hope our guide has given you some inspiration on changes you can make to your home office to make it feel more like a home. No matter your budget, there are always affordable changes that you can make as well as more expensive ones, if you are looking to treat yourself.
