The Best Ways to Dress Up Your Front Garden

We’re normally pretty good at focusing on the interior of our homes, since this is the space where we spend the most time. However, we’re not always as good as paying attention to the outside of our properties. But this is a mistake. There are many good reasons to make sure that our front yards are as beautiful as can be. For one, they help to set the tone for our homes and can make returning home after a long day of work more enjoyable. They can also have a big impact on our home’s value; and who doesn’t want their house to be worth as much as possible? If you need a little help figuring out how to improve the appearance of your front garden, then take a read of the below.

Change the Roof

Yes, we’re starting with a big one: the roof. Admittedly, this isn’t the cheapest improvement you can make, but it is the most impactful. The roof doesn’t just influence how the front of your house looks; it is, in many ways, a huge chunk of the property. Take a look at what’s available, and see what works best with your property — it really will make a big difference. And of course, there are other advantages to upgrading your roof too, such as making your home warmer.

Window and Door Upgrades

The other two big aspects of the property that influence the kerb appeal are the windows and the front door. The windows are often overlooked, but when they’re sparkling clean, you’ll see that your home looks much better. Hire some window cleaners to keep them spick and span for you; you will notice a difference. For your door, it’s best to push the boat out a little. It’s normally advisable to splash colour on our home, since this can reduce the value, but the front door is exempt. A beautiful blue or red wooden door will add a lot of charm. If you want to go a step further with changes, you could even consider changing out the fittings on the door to match your desired style. Changing out your door handles to sleek black ones can make the façade of your property appear more modern and trendy whilst giving better contrast to your newly painted door.

Add Greenery

You look at some front gardens and they’re just, well, pretty depressing — it seems like they’re just slabs of concrete. If yours is like that, then why not look at adding some greenery? It helps to bring life and joy to the front of your home, and can really make a big difference.

Gates and Fences

You can also think about having a cute gate or fence panels at the front of your property. Again, this isn’t something that all that many people think about, but it will make a big difference to your home. It’ll also put a clear divide between the outside world and your private space, and help to make your home feel more secure too.

Deep Cleaning

Whether you park your car on your front drive or not, there’ll likely be a need to power wash your drive from time to time. It’s just one of those places that gets dirty! And also…it’s pretty forward to power wash. You’ll also want to look at getting some weed killer, so it can stay free from invasive species.
