Top Tips For A First Time Visit To Miami

Miami is best known for its buzzing nightlife and beautiful beaches, but it has so much more to offer than that. It’s such an amazing city and even if you are not interested in the club scene, you can still have a great trip. It’s one of those places where there is always something going on and whatever your tastes, you can find something to entertain you. But Miami can be a daunting place to visit and a lot of people don’t really know where to start when planning their trip. If you are visiting Miami for the first time, here are a few great tips to help you get the most out of your trip.

Stay Safe

You may have heard horror stories about Miami, and the airport does have a reputation for baggage theft. Like any other city in the world, there are dangers, but as long as you follow a few simple safety tips, you will be fine. If you are worried about anything in your bags being stolen, make sure to keep valuables in your carry on.

When you are walking around in the evening, you just need to use a bit of common sense. Don’t walk on your own on the beaches, and try to stick to the busy streets as much as possible. There is always something going on at night in Miami, so it shouldn’t be that hard.

Finally, you need to check your bill when you pay with a credit card because there is a chance that you may be charged for items that you did not purchase, especially if you have had a few drinks and people think that you are an easy target.

Pack For The Weather

When you are preparing for your trip, don’t just assume that Miami is going to be boiling hot all of the time because it won’t. For a lot of the year, the weather will be nice, but June through October is the rainy season, and there is the chance of hurricanes. When you are packing for your trip, make sure that you have some wet weather clothes, just in case it does rain.

When you are packing, you also need to remember that certain places have dress codes. You will be fine in casual wear in most places, especially during the day. However, a lot of the high end nightclubs and bars will not let you in unless you are wearing smart clothes, so make sure to pack accordingly.

See Miami From The Water

The best way to see the city is definitely from the water. The beaches are so beautiful and there are some great destinations along the coast, so you should check out luxury cruise holidays from Bolsover Cruise Club and see a different side of the city. There’s something quite magical about being out on the water, and it gives you a bit of respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Miami is a very full-on place, so it’s good to take a day or two out and enjoy the water so you can recharge your batteries.

Visit In The Summer

If you want a more peaceful travel experience, visiting in the off season is a great tip. You might be surprised to know that the summer is the off season in Miami. There will still be a lot going on, but it is far quieter than any other time of the year. Most people flock to Miami in the winter when they are desperate for the sun, so the summer is actually relatively quiet in comparison.

Don’t Miss The Street Art

Miami isn’t just about partying, it’s also a cultural hub as well, so make sure that you don’t miss out on the amazing street art in Miami. Wynwood is a hub for artists and the streets are covered in some incredible pieces from local and international artists. There are also some great galleries in the area, but they tend to close quite early and then the whole area fills with tourists and locals, looking for somewhere to grab a drink. If you get there early in the morning, it should be fairly quiet and you can explore the galleries and the street art at your leisure before all of the party-goers come out.

Miami is a great place to go if you want to party in some of the best nightclubs in the world, but it’s so much more than that. As long as you follow these tips, you will have a great first trip to Miami.
