Kitchen Interior: 10 Low-Budget Yet Trendy Solutions

Remodeling is often a necessary step to make your kitchen look good again. However, it comes with many challenges: you have to choose the design, find the right items, repaint the place, and, of course, meet the budget. That last point is usually the most tricky one, as kitchen remodel can be pretty costly.

But you don’t need to spend millions to add a fresh vibe to your place. Changing the cabinet doors, updating the lighting, repainting the floor – all that doesn’t cost too much and can make your kitchen look like new. Read on, and check these 10 trendy yet budget-friendly ideas for your kitchen remodel.

Update the Cabinets

Replacing old cabinets with new ones can be super expensive, but that doesn’t mean you have to throw them away. Even if your cabinets are damaged beyond repair, you can change the door and reuse the rest of the cabinet – for example, with the help of Kitchen Tune-Up if you live in the US.

Change the Hardware

If you can’t afford to replace doors or cabinets but still want a new look in your kitchen, you can just change the hardware. That will add a fresh vibe to your kitchen, and no one else will know what exactly is different. You can find some nice hardware pieces at any home improvement store, and they don’t cost too much.

Create an Island From an Old Table

A kitchen is a place where you cook, and you ideally need a big table standing in the heart of the room. But you don’t have to buy a new one; you just use something you already have. Transform an old table into a kitchen island by repairing it and adding some decorative details and colour.

Update Your Light Fixture

Who says that you can’t do a kitchen remodel using only what you have at home, and that includes light fixtures. You probably have several random lights in your home that you are not using. How about mixing them together to make a statement that’s both a cheap and unique feature.

Repaint Your Floor

The floor plays a crucial part in every kitchen, and if it looks terrible, the whole place will have the same vibe. That’s why you might want to repaint your floor. Solid floors can be painted with an appropriate product and wooden floors can be re-stained or varnished. You might need to do this once every 3-5 years, and that can cost a pretty penny. Repainting it yourself instead of using professional help will save you some money – just do research beforehand and be careful.

Add a Splash of Colour

If you don’t feel like repainting your floor, you can just add a splash of colour to the place. Create your own unique kitchen look with some bright colours on the walls or the cabinets. Don’t worry about it looking tacky or cheap. If you choose the colors correctly, you will get a modern, light, and fresh look.

Mirrors Or Window as a Decoration

Hanging an vintage mirror or even a window in the kitchen can add a very quirky vibe. And to do so, you don’t even need any additional help – just make sure to be careful and not cut yourself if you’re leaving the glass in the window.

Bring Nature In

Adding some plants to the room will help create a calming sanctuary feel, allowing you to relax after work or school and not stress during the cooking process. And if you’re on a budget, even artificial flowers will do – choose the ones that make you feel happy when you look at them.

Add a Backsplash

Backsplash adds texture and depth to your kitchen while protecting the wall from stains and other damage. You can create it using ceramic tiles or stones or even stencil a pattern on them. Whichever material you decide to use, the backsplash is relatively easy and cheap to make at home.

Create a Brick Wall

Brick walls are practical for every kitchen, as there is no other place where you need them more. Moreover, they can look very stylish. However, brick walls can also be costly and hard to install, which is why many people avoid them. But there is a cheaper way – you can add brick slips to a wall or even use wallpaper or paint to make it look just like brick.

A Final Note

Redecorating your kitchen is never an easy task, but with these helpful tips, you can add a fresh vibe to your room and make it look just like new. And for that, you need hardly any additional help. Repaint the floor, change the hardware or replace the cabinets doors… add some plants, update the lighting – and voilà, you’ve got a trendy, modern kitchen.

The key rule here is to remember that kitchen is a part of your house, not a completely separate room. Try to decorate it in the colours matching the overall interior and clean it regularly. That will help your kitchen feel cosy and comfortable all the time.
