Review: Beko Washing Machine with a 28 Minute Cycle

For a couple of weeks I’ve been trying out a freestanding 12kg 1400rpm Washing Machine by Beko (model number WY124854M).

What appealed to me about this particular machine is that it offers a very handy and quick 28 minute cycle, amongst a range of other options (there are 16 programmes in total).

Not only that, the machine can use a special steam programme to actively reduce laundry creases; as someone who shuns ironing unless absolutely necessary, this is a fantastic feature.  In just 17 minutes, its intense steaming can reduce the creases by over 50%.  So if you do still want to iron your clothes, it makes it a lot easier and quicker.

The Beko WY124854M also provides a quieter wash with its energy efficient motor, so if you aren’t able to put it in a utility room or garage, the machine will not cause much of a disturbance in the kitchen.

Another feature I really like is that it can take a large 12kg load, even on that speedy 28 minute cycle, so it’s pretty perfect for a family.  Waiting hours for a load to finish is a thing of the past!  Not only is time saved with this setting but you’re saving energy, too – making it cheaper to run.  (And the machine already has a great energy rating at A+++)

I have found the washing machine easy to use.  With a clear and bright LCD display panel on the front, you can easily see how long a cycle has left, for example.  It also makes it easy to see the spin speed and temperature and alter them if required.

The dimensions of the washer are height 850mm, width 600mm and depth 625cm – plus the porthole door is a generous 34cm which means loading and unloading is a breeze.  There’s also a child lock which is reassuring to know.

Already I’ve found our usual mountains of laundry have reduced, as I can get through it much more efficiently.  The large capacity drum means you can wash up to 4 double bed linen sets, 21 towels or 60 shirts in one wash cycle – how amazing is that!

The range of programmes and design of the drum surface means you can safely wash delicates, like silk, or waterproof clothing and there’s also an anti-allergy cycle for things like pet bedding.

For more info about this efficient and smart-looking machine, head to the Beko website here.  And watch out for a follow up post coming soon where you will have the chance to win one of these amazing washing machines yourself…!
