Great Trip Ideas For Christmas

Photo by Kristina Paukshtite from Pexels

Christmas is the most magical time of the year, and it’s a time where being with family is always the best. While most of us will stay at home during the festive period and enjoy plenty of cosy nights in, many of us also like to enjoy a fun Christmas trip out with the ones we love.

Today, we want to talk about the latter, and we have some amazing ideas for trips you can take this Christmas to make your family time even more special.

A New York getaway

The first and perhaps the most popular Christmas time trip of all is a holiday in New York. New York is the most popular city in the world, and as the festive season looms this amazing city becomes even more festive. With stunning lights everywhere you look, markets in the centre, and a huge tree on display – it is a great place to be if you want to get yourself and your family into the Christmas spirit.

A market trip in Edinburgh

Christmas markets are an amazing phenomenon and they are something that happen all over the world. European Christmas markets are by far the most impressive and feature different stalls from all over that make amazing crafts, clothing, foods, and alcohol for the festive season. If you want to celebrate the festive season in style and also get some unique gifts for your loved ones, Edinburgh Christmas markets are a must. There are a lot of great markets out there, but there is something about the decorations, atmosphere, and overall climate of Edinburgh in December that just rings in Christmas like nowhere else.

A festive inn stay

One great idea for a cosy Christmas getaway would be a trip to a stunning little inn in the countryside. The Inn Collection Group offers many Christmas packages that allow you to stay in a beautiful quaint inn over the Christmas period with your family. One of the great things about this is that many of the inns will decorate the space for you, giving you that stunning Christmas feel, and will provide a festive Christmas dinner for all.

A beach escape

Looking for a whole new experience this Christmas? Head down to Australia for the festive period and see how Christmas is celebrated in the Southern Hemisphere. You might love Christmas but hate the weather, and this is a great way to still celebrate this important holiday, but instead of a brisk dinner time walk in the snow, you can sunbathe for an hour on the beach before you go back for dinner!

A trip to Lapland

And of course, how can we talk about trips away at Christmas without mentioning Lapland? The place that many believe Santa Claus lives – Lapland is in the brisk Nordic landscape of Finland and is a magical place to spend your Christmas. With many festive holiday packages available each year, this is perfect for you as a family, especially if you have kids with you!
